Claude read --help and wrote markdown
ex1fm3ta had Claude run --help on the Jira and GitLab clients and save the actions as markdown. That became two small plugins he published.

What was done
On 21 September 2026 ex1fm3ta writes that the Jira and GitLab MCPs used too many tokens. He installed the command-line clients instead. He had Claude run --help recursively and save every possible action in its own markdown file. That became two plugins: acli-skills for Jira and glab-skills for GitLab. They also made a Claude Code plugin that streams status for background jobs to the console. He writes that MCP is still useful for prototypes and internal tools. Both repositories are published on his profile.
How it went
The plugins exist and are published. He does not give a token count before and after.
Worth knowing
The comment does not include the markdown files. It does not say how far token use actually fell.
How to do it
- Install [cli] locally and ask Claude Code to run --help.
- Ask it to write one markdown file per action in [folder].
- Read the files before you use them on a real project.
Try it with Claude Code
Run --help on [cli] and write one markdown file per action in [folder]. Do not change a real project and do not deploy until I say yes.
Replace text in brackets with your own.
Done when. The markdown files have been read, and they are not in use on a real project unless you said yes.
Safety rule. The agent does not deploy and does not change a real project. You read the files first.
