A calendar from travel email in under a minute
u/schneller1 spent 1.5 hours watching Manus book a flight, a train and a calendar. He did the booking himself. Claude in chat put the travel details from Gmail into Google Calendar on the first try, in under a minute.

What was done
On 19 March 2026 u/schneller1 writes in r/ChatGPT that he is not a programmer. He wanted Manus to do the work. Booking a flight and a train and putting them on the calendar took 1.5 hours of supervision, for something he puts at 15 minutes. Manus took so long that he did the booking himself. The site builder in Manus got the copy right on the first try. The same copy took 5+ hours in ChatGPT. He can host the site with Manus, and writes that he cannot really export it. Gmail and Google Calendar were unreliable in both ChatGPT and Manus. His overall rating of Manus is 6/10. At the end: Manus and the ChatGPT agent could not take travel details from Gmail and make an event in Google Calendar. Claude in chat did it on the first try, in under a minute.
How it went
He did the booking himself. The calendar event from Gmail was made by Claude in chat. He does not name the flight or the train. Export of the site from Manus is not solved, as he writes.
Worth knowing
1.5 hours and 15 minutes are his comparison. 6/10 is his rating of Manus, not of the calendar event. 5+ hours is the site copy in ChatGPT. No departure is named.
How to do it
- Book the trip yourself if the agent gets stuck.
- Ask for a calendar draft from the email, with time and place.
- Read the event. Do not add it and do not book before you have said yes.
Try it with Claude
Read the travel email in [inbox] and write a calendar draft with time and place for [trip]. Do not add the event and do not book a flight or a train until I say yes.
Replace text in brackets with your own.
Done when. The draft has been read, and the event has not been added and the trip has not been booked without a yes.
Safety rule. The agent does not add the event and does not book the trip until you say yes.
