Claude Code used for tasks that are not code
pta2la asked his Claude Code assistant to list what they had actually done. None of the items was programming. Code happened alongside, when he asked for it.

What was done
On 7 October 2026 pta2la (@peta2la) writes that he asked the assistant to list the tasks they had solved. None was programming: rotate a photo in a shared folder and put it on the clipboard, read a PDF of a sample entrance exam and derive the task types, find a hung process and kill it, find cheap weatherproof steel to hang a camera on, say what is still under warranty and until when, put two photos side by side and scale one to the same height, explain one sentence in a share dialog, and rename an agent consistently across six files. The profile says Brno.
How it went
He writes that this is most of the work he does with it. Code happens along the way, when he asks for it.
Worth knowing
The list is examples of tasks, not a measure of how often it works. Killing a process can stop something you still need.
How to do it
- Describe the file or the machine, and what the result should be.
- Ask the agent to say what it will change before it does it.
- Check the file or the process afterwards.
Try it with Claude Code
Task: [task] in [folder or machine]. First say what you will change. Do not delete files and do not kill processes until I have said yes to the name.
Replace text in brackets with your own.
Done when. The change is the one you agreed to, and you have seen the result.
Safety rule. No deletion and no process is killed until you have approved the name.
