What was done
Claude Code wrote a Python program that listened to Spotify and to Daniel Murrell, and showed his pitch in the terminal. He wanted to practise with the original songs instead of the covers in the app he used. The agent could not follow the singer's pitch in real time, so he went on to build OnKey, a free open-source Mac app that learns a song in a couple of minutes. He does not say how much of the app the agent wrote.
How to do it
- Paste the prompt into the tool, and replace the text in brackets with your own.
- Read the answer through. Do not send, delete or publish anything until you have seen it yourself.
- Check the original before you trust a figure, a name or a date.
Try it with Claude Code
Write a small Python program that listens to [the microphone] while I sing [song] and shows my pitch in the terminal, and compare it with [the notes or a recording I have]. Explain which libraries you will use and which permissions the program needs. Show me the plan before you install or change anything on the machine. You are done when I can see my pitch and the gap while I sing.
