Session Buddy was ported to Safari
jedberg asked ChatGPT to take a Chrome extension's source and port it to Safari. After 20 minutes Session Buddy was installed.

What was done
On 13 October 2026 jedberg writes that he uses Chrome, Safari and Firefox for different things. He asked ChatGPT to port a favourite extension from Chrome to Safari. He said it was already installed in Chrome, so the model could get the source there, and that it should port and install it. After 20 minutes and a few bucks in tokens, an estimate, he had used 6% of his $20/mo plan. He then had Session Buddy in Safari.
How it went
The extension is in Safari. The comment does not say he read the code before it was installed.
Worth knowing
The dollar figure is an estimate. He does not say what the port changed, or whether every function was tried.
How to do it
- Point the agent at the extension you already have installed, and name the target browser.
- Read the diff before anything is added to the browser.
- Install it yourself only if the code looks right.
Try it with ChatGPT
Port the extension [name] from [source-browser] to [target-browser]. Show the diff here. Do not install it until I say yes.
Replace text in brackets with your own.
Done when. The diff has been read, and the extension is not installed unless you said yes.
Safety rule. The agent does not install into the browser. You read the code and install it yourself.
