The tools folder was read, the authorization was changed
Tomasz Tunguz asked Claude Cowork to read the folder of scripts he had built in Claude Code. After eleven steps the tools were in Cowork's memory. Cowork was slow, crashed twice on startup, and changed the authorization for Claude Code.

What was done
On 13 January 2026 Tomasz Tunguz writes that he asked Claude Cowork to read his tools folder. After eleven steps it understood how he works. The folder held scripts to send email, update the CRM, research startups and draft replies. They were built in Claude Code and lived on the laptop. Cowork read each script and added them to its memory. He could do what he did the day before, in a different interface. He writes that this version of Cowork is slow. It crashed twice on startup. It changed the authorization settings for Claude Code. The profile says San Francisco, CA.
How it went
The tools could be used from Cowork. The authorization for Claude Code was changed. The post does not say he set the setting back.
Worth knowing
The post does not list the eleven steps. It does not say which scripts were read wrong.
How to do it
- Point Cowork at the folder, and ask it to explain each script without running it.
- Read the list before you ask it to send email or update the CRM.
- Do not send, do not update and do not change authorization until you say yes.
Try it with Claude Cowork
Read the scripts in [folder]. Explain what each script does, without running it. Do not send email. Do not update the CRM. Do not change authorization. Wait until I say yes.
Replace text in brackets with your own.
Done when. You have read what the scripts do, and the authorization was not changed before you said yes.
Safety rule. No email, no CRM update and no authorization change until you have said yes.
