What was done

The developer behind the alex0ptr account on Hacker News started a morning podcast of his own 18 months ago, then became a father and lost his free time. AI helped him finish AI Gude. It reads the RSS feeds he picks, writes a script in the style he wants and voices it with Gemini, in episodes of about 10 minutes. He listens every day, but says himself it is very early.

How to do it

  1. Paste the prompt into the tool, and replace the text in brackets with your own.
  2. Read the answer through. Do not send, delete or publish anything until you have seen it yourself.
  3. Check the original before you trust a figure, a name or a date.

Try it with Valgfri agent

Fetch new stories from [RSS feeds] from the last day. Pick the [number] most important and write a script of about [minutes] minutes in the style [description], with one chapter per story and a link to the source. Make audio with [voice service]. Leave out stories you cannot read in full. Show me the script before anything is produced or sent. You are done when the episode is in [folder] ready to play.

  • Gather a seriously ill relative's medical records in one agent

A user on Hacker News gave all the medical records of a father in law with pancreatic cancer to an agent and made it the coordinator. The patient was passed between several doctors and nurse practitioners with no overall view. The agent found the wrong pain medication on the wrong schedule, and a voice transcription error about genetic markers that changed the treatment plan. The oncologist called it a team member, but the patient's reserves were already drained.

  • Let Hermes restock your weekly groceries from your receipts

A user on Hacker News runs Hermes locally and buys all groceries online. A separate program pulls email receipts into a database. Based on how often and when an item was last bought, Hermes works out what needs restocking. Every week it logs in to the store, books a delivery slot and adds the items to the cart. If something runs out, a photo of the barcode is enough, but the user had to build the receipt program first.

  • Ask Grok Bot to find cheaper prices for your prescriptions

A user on X asked Grok Bot to go through their prescription prices and find better ones. The bot found a pharmacy with the best deal and gave the transfer form. The user filled it out and sent it to the doctor's office, which moved the prescriptions. This took under 20 minutes and saved over 500 dollars, the user writes. The post does not say which drugs or what they cost before, and the figure is self-reported and unchecked.
