Claude takes sushi orders on Instagram

u/timhartmann7 let Claude answer Instagram orders for a chain with 7 locations. A confirmed order goes to the kitchen and to the CRM. Calls, audio and photos go to a person. He writes that the hit rate is something like 98 percent.

This is a public report, not advice from Skatteetaten, NAV, Altinn or an accountant. Check figures, deadlines and decisions against the original.

What was done

On 21 June 2026 u/timhartmann7 writes in r/AI_Agents about a sushi chain with 7 locations. About 90 percent of orders arrive as Instagram messages. One person typed the replies. Code reads the messages through the Meta API and sends them to Claude, Sonnet 4.6. Claude has the menu, ingredients, calories, allergens, zones, hours, prep time and promos for all 7 spots. It helps the customer choose, explains a roll, flags allergens and suggests an add-on when it fits. A confirmed order is sent to the kitchen and written to the CRM and an admin panel. Calls, voice messages and photos go to a person. A handoff almost only happens if the customer asks for a person or the manager. After launch he watches. The panel shows the chat and the reasoning. He writes that the agent is right something like 98 percent of the time, and that he is not chasing 100 percent. Before the pitch he placed an order himself and got dry, confusing replies.

How it went

Confirmed text orders are meant for the kitchen and the CRM. He does not say how many orders have gone through. Audio and photos still sit with a person.

Worth knowing

The chain is not named. "Something like 98 percent" is his estimate, not a log in the post. The post shows no single order. Check the original. This is not a finished recipe for customer service.

How to do it

  1. Give the agent the menu, zones and opening hours as text.
  2. Let it propose a reply. Read it before the customer gets it.
  3. Say yes yourself before anything goes to the kitchen or the CRM. Take calls, audio and photos yourself.

Try it with Claude

Read the message on [channel] for [chain]. Use [menu] to suggest an order, allergens and one add-on. Do not send the order to the kitchen and do not write to the CRM until I say yes.

Replace text in brackets with your own.

Done when. No order has been sent to the kitchen unless you have said yes.

Safety rule. The agent does not write to the kitchen or the CRM until you say yes.
