Write knowledge articles clear enough for an AI assistant

Every adviser at the contact centre of Nav, Norway's labour and welfare agency, now has Bob, an AI assistant that finds answers in over 1,500 knowledge articles and on nav.no and shows its sources. The centre handles about five million enquiries a year.

What was done

Every adviser at the contact centre of Nav, Norway's labour and welfare agency, now has Bob, an AI assistant that finds answers in over 1,500 knowledge articles and on nav.no and shows its sources. The centre handles about five million enquiries a year. Nav learned that answers are only as good as the articles, which must be written in plain language a new hire can follow. The adviser always assesses the answer. The case gives no figures for time saved, so check the original.

How to do it

  1. Paste the prompt into the tool, and replace the text in brackets with your own.
  2. Read the answer through. Do not send, delete or publish anything until you have seen it yourself.
  3. Check the original before you trust a figure, a name or a date.

Try it with ChatGPT

Read [the knowledge article or routine] and mark sentences that need inside knowledge, abbreviations that are not explained and steps that are missing. Suggest a new version in plain language a new hire can follow, without changing the content. Do not paste in personal data or cases about individuals. You are done when I have a list of the changes and a new version I can compare with the original.
