What was done
Tayo is a full-stack developer studying computer engineering in Lagos. The day before, he wrote that he had to find new space on his machine every day. He asked Codex to free up space, and it found After Effects project files of up to 12 GB, build files and node_modules folders from projects he no longer used. It came to 23 GB, but he does not say what he deleted in the end.
How to do it
- Paste the prompt into the tool, and replace the text in brackets with your own.
- Read the answer through. Do not send, delete or publish anything until you have seen it yourself.
- Check the original before you trust a figure, a name or a date.
Try it with Codex
Find out what is taking up space on [machine or disk]. List the largest files and folders with size, path and when they were last used. Flag build files, dependencies like node_modules and projects I have not touched in [number] months. Do not delete or move anything. Suggest what could be removed, and whether it can be rebuilt. You are done when I have a list sorted by size.
