A comparison of demands and the final law

u/ringringpssy used ChatGPT 5.5 and Claude on a social science paper. ChatGPT removed sources and cited badly. He writes that Claude compared the demands with the law and kept the citations.

What was done

On 17 June 2026 u/ringringpssy writes in r/ChatGPT that he wrote a social science paper with ChatGPT 5.5, Deep Research and Agent Mode. It helped him get the writing started. He writes that it was weak on papers, wording, theories and on citing sources he had supplied. It removed sources and used sources that were not real. Even in Deep Research it searched Wikipedia, though he had asked for scientific papers. He asked it to compare positions from political actors with a final law. He writes that the comparison was wrong. He has Pro and was disappointed. With Claude Pro, and he names Opus 4.8, he writes that the syntax, the theories, the comparison of demands against the final text and the citations held. He also switched to other ChatGPT models. He writes that they were not better.

How it went

He did not get a comparison from ChatGPT he could use. He describes Claude's comparison and citations as the ones that held. The post does not say the paper was submitted.

Worth knowing

The documents are not in the post. We do not see the citations. That he calls Claude's comparison right is his judgement. The post ends with questions to others, without further examples.

How to do it

  1. Upload the two documents you want compared.
  2. Ask for a comparison that keeps the sources you supplied.
  3. Read each claim against the document before you use the text in the paper.

Try it with Claude

Compare [document-a] with [document-b]. Keep the sources I supplied. Mark claims you cannot point to in the text. Do not submit the paper until I say yes.

Replace text in brackets with your own.

Done when. You have read the comparison against both documents, and the paper has not been submitted.

Safety rule. The agent does not submit the paper. You read the sources before anything is sent.
